Pineapple Rasam

Rasam is a South Indian delicacy, simply prepared with citric juices with added spices, consumed with rice or as a soup. Many types of rasam are prepared in South India with tamarind, tomato or pineapple.

Ingredients:
3-4 cups water
1/3 cup pine apple pulp
10 pieces diced pineapple
3-4 tsp chopped cilantro
8-10 curry leaves
2 tsp cooked and mashed turdal
1 tsp rasam powder
1 tsp oil
1/4 tsp turmeric
salt to taste
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp mustard
1/4 tsp hing/asafeteda
2 tsp lime juice
1 tsp jaggery powder or brown sugar

Method

1. Boil water in a vessel add pine apple pulp and diced pineapple to it n cook it for 5-8 min
2. Add rasam powder, cooked and mashed turdal paste, cilantro and salt, keep it in simmer for another 8-10 min.
3. Head oil in a small sauce pan for seasoning add cumin, mustatd, turmeric, hind and curry leaves.
4. Add seasoning to the boiled rasam. 
5. If required add lime juice as per your taste and add jaggery powder.
