Apple Pie

Several hundreds of varieties of apples are grown worldwide can be consumed raw or used in cooking and baking deserts. Apples are rich in anti-oxidants, vitamin-C. It's high fibre prevents hunger come faster, helps digestion and known to remove weakness.





Preparation time: 20-30 min
cook time: 35-40 min

Ingredients:
For crust
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
3-4 tsp butter
1/2 cup cold water
For filling
6-7 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3 tsp plain flour
1/4 cup water
3-4 tsp unsalted butter
3/4 cup sugar(brown and white sugar equal ratios)
1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp lemon juice




1.  In a large bowl toss lemon juice to apple slices.
2. Add sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, mix thoroughly to coat.
3. Combine the flour, salt, butter
4. Add water step by step in small quantities to make a dough(like chapathi dough)
5. Cover the dough in a plastic wrap for 30-45min.
6. Roll the dough in a round shape (like chapathi) but little thicker than chapathi.
7. Now place the crust(chapathi) in a pie plate, pressing evenly to the bottom and sides.
8. At this point, keep the filling over the crust
9. Then, make the stips  with dough and place them on the pie filling and seal the edges.
10. Bake it for 35-40 min at 350 degrees, in a preheat oven, until crust turns golden brown and filling is bubbly.
